Good for you. My teachers tried to get me to read a lot of the Classics when I was young since I loved reading so much. But I never liked them, even now. *shrugs*
I enjoyed SOME of them. Reading Roots was… amazing and horrifying. I was completely enthralled, in a car-crash sort of way. I’m really glad I read it tho, because it gave me a lot of perspective for a 13 yr old. My librarian thought I was crazy for wanting to read it, but she always encouraged me to expand my horizons. That was another reason I read so many classics, like Where the Red Fern Grows, etc.
